. . . A Reliable Water Supply for the Future

Upper Trinity serves one of the fastest growing regions in North Texas. This area’s population is expected to increase about 500% within 50 years — requiring approximately 136 million gallons of fresh water each and every day — for the citizens of participating communities in Denton and Collin Counties.

Presently, Upper Trinity secures water from the City of Dallas (out of Lewisville and Ray Roberts Lakes in Denton County) and from Chapman Lake in northeast Texas. These water supplies will be adequate for about 25 years, after which new water sources will be needed.

Lake Ralph Hall, a proposed new water supply lake on the North Sulphur River in Fannin County, will provide a safe, reliable water supply for the families and cities who rely on Upper Trinity. The proposed Lake is the most feasible and lowest cost source of new water available to Upper Trinity — and it can be built in time to avoid a water shortfall in about 25 years.
