   Planning for Tomorrow's Water Needs

People tend to think of water when they get thirsty or turn on their water faucet. In contrast, Upper Trinity Regional Water District works daily to assure its participating communities and utilities in Denton and Collin Counties have a safe and reliable water supply.

To avoid a water shortage in about 25 years, Upper Trinity Regional is planning today for additional water supplies it will need tomorrow. As part of its long-term strategies, Upper Trinity plans to increase water conservation, water reuse and fully utilize existing water sources.  These strategies alone are not enough to provide an adequate water supply to its customers for the next 50-years.

Development of Lake Ralph Hall is another important strategy for Upper Trinity — one that will provide a needed water supply in time to avoid a water crisis.
